A new church building in Budaka, Uganda

March 2010

Dear Partners, Family and Friends,

As you read this we’re in Nepal where a door has been opened for the gospel. In this highly Hindu area, it isn’t known how long this door will stay open, but for now, we are taking advantage of it! We will also be traveling to Bangladesh, Northern India, and several islands off the north coast of India. Please pray for Gary and me as we venture to new areas we haven’t been to before. We look forward to returning on March 21 and telling you all about the adventures of this trip!

My last trip in February, to South Africa, was very productive. I headed out on my first non-stop trip from Atlanta to Johannesburg - a 15-hour direct flight! It was a bit long, but it was nice not to have to switch planes or have any long layovers to get there. The trip back was a bit longer - 17 1/2 hours probably because of headwinds. Can you imagine being in a plane that long?!

While in South Africa, I traveled to Durban, where I ministered in schools and city churches. Durban is a unique coastal city, mostly inhabited by India-descended Africans. I worked with my good friend Pastor Stanley Moodley, President of the Christian Evangelistic Assemblies of South Arica, who I have been doing church planting and crusades for, for many years now. While there, I worked mostly with the Carhissa Tribal People of Port Elizabeth, a few hours south of Durban. It was a joy to help start up and encourage 13 new churches in this area, by holding crusades each night and open air, and market meetings daily. We saw many healing that were so dramatic and faith stirring! Oh! It was a blessing! So many gave their hearts to Jesus, and the churches were all added to! And now, because these churches are just getting started, we’ll follow up on helping them with some building projects and possibly a meeting tent to be used for startup churches and crusades in the area. I look forward to returning to see their progress!

We are so grateful for the sacrifice of so many of you at this time of local and national recession, and we believe our God will supply and provide for every need to accomplish His plans in your lives and in this ministry. Words cannot express how thankful we are for your prayers, donations, financial support, and willingness to step in when there is a need. Thank you so very much!

February 2010

Dear Partners, Family and Friends,

As you read this I am in Port Elizabeth, South Africa amongst some of the poorest people in the area. I had the privilege of ministering to these people several years ago, and I am blessed to be here again. I’m anticipating the Lord doing great things and look forward to telling you about them, when I return on February 16.

Our trip to Uganda last month began and ended so smoothly, and we know your prayers were a major part of that! Traveling with Gary Burkett, Doug Pope, Ejo Edmonds and Ed Childers, we carried into Uganda 14 suitcases filled with 1,000 ball caps, 1,000 Bible Promise Books, lots and lots of ties, and pens, all for those attending the Regional Conference in Tororo, Uganda, hosted by Liberty Christian Church Ministries. We have work with Bishop Okello and the Pastors of LCCM over the past five years, and have built 25 churches in villages and bordering lands in Tororo District, including the swampy areas, and a couple in Kenya that are just down the highway. We support 27 pastors in this area, and will continue to do so through 2010. These pastors are without any other help, and in some of the areas where they live, there is no money at all! People live and exist on the growing of their little family gardens. There is no industry there, and in most areas no school or hospitals (except in the small city of Tororo), some so poor, and hard to reach. To get some of the villages we traveled over land following little

I was blessed to have with me on this trip men of like minds and sensitive hearts to share and minster to the Pastors who are so hungry for help, encouragement and support, and to the gracious and loving people of this area of Uganda, where still so many need to hear the Gospel.
